Old Memories/Old Happenings/New Collages

Paper collage, Ink, White-out, Watercolor

These are based off of past environmental happenings I carried out this past winter.
I looked at the photos I had taken of my stain painting laying on top of the snow and then tried to recreate past memories.

Vanishing Point: Christopher Mir August 23- September 25,2010

Yesterday Christopher Mir, Montserrat's current artist showing in the Carol Schlosberg Alumni Gallery, came to give an artist talk to the community.

Funny personality aside, Mir's work is highly intellectual and offers the viewer a great deal of complexity when thinking about the themes that arise in his work.

September 2 - October 4, 2010

Yesterday Frame 301's visiting artist, Raul Gonzalez traveled from the outskirts of Boston to come give an artist talk at Montserrat.
This was one of my favorite artist talks so far! I'm sure a lot of you who went to the artist talk would agree.

Raul started the talk off by relating a quote to his upbringing and why he is an artist today. Thus reminding all of us in the room, you ALWAYS need to be drawing.

Montserrat College of Art_ Gallery Internship

Over this past month I've recently started working for the Montserrat Gallery as a Curatorial Intern. It's been a great way to stay connected to the school as well as become more involved in the art world.

If you have not had a chance to see the new Exhibit in the 301 Gallery, it is worth seeing!!

Peak Of Summer

I love how the last days in August and the upcoming weeks of September create this marvelous transition between Summer and Fall.

Here are a selections of photos taken toward the end of August and today (September 5th). The interior photos were a way to document the remains of my 22nd birthday party from this past weekend.

Birthday theme: Vogue, the September Issue.

The tree installation for BEST MINDS still remains. Indian Summer begins.

Happy Labor Day!

Today, Kevin and I rode bikes to Lynch Park. We took photos with my Bell & Howell/Canon. My grandparents gave me this camera when I was 17.
