Finally! Having spent an entire year trying to formulate what I was creating into words/cohesive sentences/an artist statement, here it is...
My most recent bodies of work focus on the distortion of Vogue fashion ads as well as creating illusive landscapes through collaging found paper.
In my current body of work, Vogue Series these images convey the deconstruction of the female figure. Through unrefined mark-making and erasing, the original composition and context of the image is being defaced. Thus redefining the value an image must uphold in order to qualify as a Vogue fashion ad.

On my way
A small breakthrough in my work.
It is an alteration to my technique, the formula I've established over the past year.
These pieces may not be compositionally strong, but as of this moment I'm comforted in the fact that I can still allow myself to branch out of my artistic comfort zone and create work that I am completely unsure of.

Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing with my life.
I work on these images and begin to have some kind of breakthrough. I start to feel better about everything.
These are the small moments.
